TACKLING GLOBAL POVERTY
Sep 12, 2011

The reality of poverty is that one third of deaths, some eighteen million people each year (50,000 per day) are due to poverty-related causes. That is three hundred million people since 1990, the majority women and children, roughly equal to the population of the United States.

Every year nearly eleven million children die before their fifth birthday. These are horrible, sobering facts.

Can we do anything to solve the problem of global poverty?

This is a recent rising interest in my heart as I seek opportunities to partner with people, groups and organizations who share similar ideals, particularly those who aim to develop entrepreneurs and enterprises, bridge the gap between entrepreneurial talent and critical business development skills, and create structured, sustainable businesses with long term potential.

Let's talk...anyone? Huh?

The Government, especially the minority ones from the 80/20 rule are deliberately continuing with the current situation because of profit. Not only the governments, but also the corporates and high authorities. All they care about is money, and profit. And I suspect there's a higher authority than government due to many reasons, but that's off-topic for now.
If we do something to make the government stop throwing the money into absolutely pointless stuff, we can be a step closer to tackling global poverty. Quite obviously, charities and donation centres are not fully helping those in need. We just need to go out there and help these people. Forget about money for a bit, and help them.. after all, they're just people!
This is also due to unfair international trade, so if we do something about that? I don't know, what do you guys think?

The problem that we are facing right now is mainly due to wealth distribution and the resulting widening gap. Rich countries getting richer and poor countries getting poorer.

When undertaken equitably, trade has an unparalleled capacity to lift people out of poverty and enhance the quality of lives across the world. However, business pressures and the demand for cheap goods can mean that workers in the developing world are often denied the basic living standards.
