Social Effects of Violent Media Imagery
Nov 27, 2010

This instructive video is based on the works of Professor George Gerbner who studied this phenomenon for about thirty years. It shows how the constant imagery of violence we see on the screen may make as addicted to violent imagery. Gerbner argues that the media conglomerates know this effect very well. Therefore, they treat the fans of violent imagery the way drug traffickers treat drug addicts; that, is they add more and more violent imagery to have the same effect on the viewers. Very important video.

The video shows very graphic imagery, so be warned. At the same time, all the clips in this video are taken from the mainstream media. If you are a learner of social effects of violent media imagery, this video will be useful to you. If you are an educator on this subject, the video is a must.

I composed my research project on this. Fundamentally, any individual who could be mixed to violence by media as of now is inclined to brutality in any case. Notwithstanding, the sort of media expended frequently mirrors the watcher. According to UK Dissertation, there are individuals attracted to Jersey Shore, individuals attracted to the Discovery Channel, individuals attracted to Call of Duty, and so on. Crazy individuals are attracted to violent imagery, yet violent imagery does not blend rational individuals to brutality.
