If you are postmodernist, buddhist or agnostic, how can you say that all religions should be acceptable?

Where in Buddhism does it mention that all relgions are expectable.? Or to your case, its all religious practices, anyway, I would like to hear a clarification on this from you soon.

cheers,

Udara

there is a difference between being open minded and simply accepting any beleif and practice no matter how crazy or immoral.

Just because you are agnostic I don't think means you accept twisted cults and human sacrifice - that is sort of rediculous.

Most agnostics don't even accept strict Christianity - that is why they are agnostics.

Agnostics just beleive you should be tolerant of others beleifs - up to a point.

As for Bhuddists - they have their own religion - it is just not as exclusive as yours.

I think a corrolary question is - why do you beleifs require you to exclude and discount the beleifs of others?

Why is it in order for you to be right - you must beleive that everyone who thinks differently is going to hell? Why can't you just be secure in your own beleifs?

luke, i agree with you a lot.
You said: "Why is it in order for you to be right - you must beleive that everyone who thinks differently is going to hell? Why can't you just be secure in your own beleifs?"
Actually, I live in that kind of situation. You see, I am a Bahai, and Bahais respect other's beleifs, although they do not neccessarily beleive in them. In my town, the Christian community is really big.I want to put this frankly and I'm only talking about the community I live in, not a whole religion. Well, what the christians do is they dont associate with us because they think we're the devil and that we'll go to hell, or they'll go to hell if they associate with us. What they do is they spread rumours about us and say that we are creating enmity amongst the christians when we arent doing anything at all to hurt them!
A Bahai's main goal is to create unity and peace amongst people, whether it is just between a few people or between two religions. So why would we be doing such a thing? I don't understand how people can't accept that someone else beleives in another religion other than their own.
