my name is Selene, and I am a IYP action partner. I am currently working on my plan, which is about a website to teach and train youths to take action on a number of issues. The website will be ready briefly. I simply need your help to make it viable: I need people who are willing to volunteer as teachers or mentors, or running campaigns and so on. Hi Selene,
I think it's great that you want to do this but I think you're not getting many responses because you need to provide a few more details about your plans.
The following are questions that sprung to mind when I was reading your request, I hope they are of help to you;
1) Who is the intended audience of this website - Global or Local?
2) If the audience is Global, how will it be any different/better than sites such as TakingITGlobal?
3) If the site is only intended for Italy then you will need to state this.
4) You ask for voluntary teachers and mentors but will they need to turn up at locations in person or will their job be to solely respond over the internet etc? This is where Q3 becomes particulary relevant.
5) Also if the site is only intended to be for the youth of Italy and say that the role of volunteers is only to respond over the web, will they need to speak fluent Italian and have a good understanding of current affairs/politics/laws/culture etc. in Italy?
I hope this helps and I wish you lots of luck with your venture.

Dear Friends,
thanks a lot for your supportive emails! The program I run is called 'Youth Action for Change', and our website is www.youthactionforchange.org
We organise a lot of free online activities, including courses, mentoring and networking.
Our online courses are taught by and for youths, and last approx between 1 and 3 months, with lectures being sent out weekly. So far, we've already organised four course on various topics, including Sustainable Development, Social Leadership and MDGs. Our programs now reach hundreds of young people in 83 countries worldwide.
