[Poll] Cloning....Right or Wrong?

Hi all,
There has been much media hype about cloning across the globe over the past few years and i was wondering what everyone out there really thought about cloning.
Do you support it? Is it going against god or a religious belief? Can it benefit society? What do you really think?
Personally, i believe in all forms of cloning: human, animal, medical and otherwise. To me it will be the next stage of human advancement through time, if only our governments will allow it, (australia believes that cloning is an illegal practice).
Do you support the idea of cloning another human being?
Yes, in all its forms!
(3 votes for 27.27%)
Yes, but only for medical reasons or research
(5 votes for 45.45%)
No, it is against my religious beliefs
(2 votes for 18.18%)
I don't care either way
(1 votes for 9.09%)

I support it as you said in all forms. It is a progress that we must take on in order to reach something new. It will help us to become more civilized! (and thats cool).
BTW: I propose you to read the thread i opened in same localtion, and goes under name "Body regeneration", which is more gentle, but even more progressed idea than just cloning. (Its simple way and improvement for human is enormous).

CLoning is one that i'm not really sure about.
I'm totally opposed to cloning an whole human being we are all created unique and should not be duplicated.
But if we are talking in terms of organ replacement -duplicating a liver or something to save someones life then i have less of a problem.

yes i did see your post about body regeneration and i found it very interest, part of the reason i started this post i wanted to open up the topic alittle more.
Cloning body parts to save lifes would be an incredibly benefical to society no longer would we need to rely on the questionable practices of organ doner waiting lists, not only this but we could effectivly wipe out world hunger by cloning animals and plants. We could have an endless supply of food.
I also believe, and many may disagree here, that we should clone a human being, in full. Imagine the implications it would have across the world. It is the next step for humanity. The clone would in some sense still be unique as that it would live an individual life of its own, facing the unforseen acts and events we all face but look and prehaps act as another person does, it all depends, nature vs nurture.
We have already changed out surroundings to suit our needs, and it goes against evolution, why not go one step further?

Well, must tell you that cloning itself is not really different from nature: Twins are naturally created clones, that born at same time. Cloning would just mean to make a twin with time delay among the two.
IN ANY CASE TWIN WOULD ALWAYS DEVELOP HIS OWN PERSONALITY - THEREFOR WOULD NOT BE "SECOND YOU" IN ANY CASE.

I am some what, divided in this issue. I think that cloning would be beneficial, if it is for medical research or saving lives. But to clone a whole human being seems unneccessary. Why do it? We don't need anymore extra people than we already have. It goes against law, and it ruins the natural process of reproduction. We also don't know the implications it can impose in the future. I believe cloning, is beneficial if only doing tiny things with it, but creating people, we would be losing our roots. It will make people dependant on it, and if something wrong occurs, who knows what could happen. Necessity is the mother of invention. Why create, when there is no need?
