Yeah that is a pretty awful face. But last night I was looking at someones website (can't remember whose) and it had Bush smiling at different camera opps. like 15 times. Let me tell you, I got really tired of looking at his smug face. Even though at times the website was hilarious.

I fear even just staying on the path that has been taken. This is world war 3, with no enemy in site, and no rules.
I fear that Bush will continue to fly in the face of all the treaties and conventions that have given any sence of stability to the international system. From the Treaty of Westphalia to the UN it would appear that the US has forgotten the reasons for them.
I really fear that he will take on another country in the "Axis of evil" and add to the existing mess.
And just to add to the fun a global recession in 2005?
Although that all sounds really pessamistic, I think that on the positive side, alot more people particuarly in the west are now more informed about the world and how the actions of our countries effect other people. I know alot of people who want things to change.

JP,
A lot of people do want things to change. I am trying to show a cautious optimism on this upcoming re-elect year. I am not neccesarily trying to do so for support of Bush, but for my love of country. I think, and could be completely wrong..but I think what we are seeing happen is interesting. The first 4 years, Bush was finishing what his Daddy didn't. He went after Saddam, he caught Saddam and he definitely got elected (2000) with his own unannounced agenda. Now he has succeeded at doing something else Daddy didn't, he go re-elected. Now, I believe we will start seeing his own choices...he has the oil, he has Saddam, and we are now seeing his own cabinet being formed (largely former Texans). We really are seeing an out with the old (or Bush Sr. cabinet) and in with the new. So I think what we will be seeing is truly George Bush Jr. at work in the next few years, and is this bad or good? I have not figured that out yet because I do not think we have seen it much at all the past four. Whether I am right or wrong, it should be interesting.
