Why Donate? Why Help?

Hi people,
Recently, I have organized a funs raising campaign, in my college in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in order to help the Darfur refugees in Africa. This is my first time organizing such campaigns. The campaign started last week.
I have friends who manage to help me. Yet, they are not as committed as how they are committed to having fun.Nobody knows what is going in Africa. All they care is what is Briteny Spears up. Who is Paris Hilton dating now. I am pretty dissapointed by it. Nonetheless, I manage to spread the awareness around by calling up my classmates and just passing the genoicide that is happening in Darfur around. I realised that education today doesnt help raise awareness. Education today only teaches one how to be egocentric.

In fact, my parents do not want me to be involve in such activities as well. But, I continued. ^..^ Not because I am a disobedient daughter, not because I am stubborn. Its because of conscienous perhaps? Thanks Jay!
