Interesting...
October 21, 2004 - 10:07 AM

isamotulekan,

This is a great question, but I find it interesting that no-one has responded to it yet. I figured on something like this everyone would have their own opinion of what human failure comes down to. I have polled those living in my home, one thinks it all comes down to greed. One jokingly said that it is because Eve ate the apple. I do not think that one answer would suffice, nor is there a clear answer. Every human considers failure on so many levels. There is failure of the personal kind, the professional, the political and so on. I think each individual has to decide what they consider a failure and realize that failures do happen. The epitome I believe of being human is the ability for some to accept the fact that mistakes come, but you move on. Terrific question though, I will have to think on it. I know this is a broad, scattered answer, but I think the question is broad and different answer for everyone. Have a terrific evening.

"My right to speak my mind, to have a voice, to be what some have called 'opinionated,' is a right I deeply and profoundly cherish. My only hope is that, one day soon, women- who have all earned the right to their opinions- instead of being labeled opinionated will be called smart or well-informed, just as men are."- Teresa Heinz Kerry

Arrogance definitely plays a role. One of our political shows that I frequently watch with a panel of people once said that for Bush to think that he could invade Iraq and give them our version of democracy was the ultimate form of arrogance; I could not agree more.

Arrogance was the first sin ever committed against God when satan refused to prostrate to Adam when God commanded him to do so saying he was created from fire while Adam was created from clay. But it seems it is one of the worst sins man is committing against God too and against other fellow humans.

I Love Failures

I totally agree that failure is because of arrogance. However, I also see failing to accomplish something is other way. Unlike others, to me, Failure is only an opportunity to begin again once more intelligently.

I agree that we must learn from our failures and mistakes. How else can we grow?

The Space between Success n Failure
November 4, 2004 - 11:38 AM

As Sandy has mentioned,"when you make the same mistake twice the third time it's definately not a mistake!"-Sandra Musonda-

Yes ,it is true depending on the subject and the person. LEt's just say a blind girl learns how to cook and it is her 3rd time cooking. However, she failed again. Can we asked her not to make the third mistake again...?? And put the entirely blame on her when her cooking is not delicious?

Sandra Musonda's quotation probably can be applied to a chef, who failed the third time because of some reasons. But as expected, the chef will either admit that he is wronf and try again the next time, like the quotation that I posted or he will start pointing fingers at others.

After giving many thoughts, there are failures because I personally think that one is lazy.Secondly, irresponsible. Sometimes, arrongance to play a role, but we have to bear in mind that some of the arrogant people are not lazy. In fact they are cunning and manipulative.
