Hey everyone,
Some friends of TIG are putting this event on in Canada, and they're looking for opinions on the logos! Let us know what you think! (I am attaching them)
TERMINUS1525 is a national festival of youth culture -online and offline- running from the autumn of 2002 though to the spring of 2003. Its hub is an interactive web site for showcasing work created by youth, exchanging ideas and supporting peer-to-peer creation.
Offline activities and events will take place across the country.
TERMINUS1525 is both a virtual and a real meeting place to celebrate the new and unexpected in youth culture.
Attached are 2 logos for TERMINUS1525. We would like to know what you think about them?!
1. Which logo do you prefer?
2. In one word (or maybe two) please describe what this logo communicates to you.
3. If you came across this logo would you be interested in finding out more?
4. Does this logo reflect youth culture?
5. Any other comments?
Please tell us something about yourself:
How old are you?
Guy or girl?
What city do you live in?
What is your first language?
Where do you find out about interesting websites or cool events? Friends? The web? Newspaper? Magazines? Radio? TV?
THANK YOU

Admittedly, I dont like either.
But.
The second conveys:
1) The second one.
2) Retro Computing
3) Sure, but so long as it was seen in the right place to suggest just part of what it actually stands for.
4) Not really - needs depth. Not just text. Perhaps a silhouette would be appropriate?
5) Yeah, make it a little more readable.

Pred.

...i agree, both are not easy to read.
Here´s my idea of a logo. A higher quality (.bmp-file of 1 MB) is also available:
