Centralization, Localization

To begin simply, the controversial topics that make up a large part of our media today are clouding the possibilities that we do have to see change in our day in age. The election here in the US will have great ramifications on the future of our society, in the states and abroad, but it is not the only issue.
It seems to me, that communities' need to rally behind now powerful leaders, resembles bowing or changting towards them like they were idols. Instead we might try motivating ourselves individually to start personally, then moving off the principles that make up the common sense of human nature.
More specifically, I live in Louisville, Ky. I have been trying to reach out to my community, express intrest in both metro (local) issues, as well as the international problems that we see in the papers and on the web everyday. In addition I have been unable to find willing participants to either Rock the Vote, stand up for disenfranchised teachers and especially to challenge the often inept leadership that currently runs the show politically.
In conclusion friends, I am new to your think tank here and I would like any help that I can get to establish a positive momentum, so that maximum velocity can be achieved in a minimal period of time. Excitement is an energy that can be channeled, it is our responsibility to use it wisely. Please respond by giving me a call at 425-0142, or mail me at 9820 Longwood Circle, Louisville Ky 40223.
My Email situation is sketchy, so if you have any tips as to how a may get one without a home computer please send tips as well. I would prefer getting to action responses first however.

Of course things need to change. It seems that the majority of the American people are happy with the status quo, but it doesn't need to be this way. I think it is a great idea to try and organize a Rock the Vote group, but I have found a lot of participation on campus here in Albuquerque, NM, with the MoveOn.org efforts. They are incredibly active in getting students involved in registering to vote and volunteering. Next week, I will be canvassing in an effort to remind people to vote.
I find it very interesting that you are inspired by Kurt Cobain, when I knew you, you told me you never really got into Nirvana. Oh well, I have always had a great admiration for you, and am sure you will find a niche in which to effect the most change.

Globalization through Localization

Dear All
I find this topic to be a burning issue that needs support from all quarters. The added bit about localization down to the individual is fantastic and needs further input. Are there any links to sources that have carried out work on Globalization through Localization? Can someone help me out here?
Best Regards
