[Poll] Poll: Iraq before and after.

Based on a recent posting of mine, I have thought of another simple question that I (and perhaps many of you) have some curiousity about.
While we all agree that the "end" does not always justify the "means" and that this is never as true as it is in war, it is interresting to look at Iraq absent the dispute about the justification for war or who executed it or what administration was in power or what was said about the intent of the war.
I've only allowed for two responses because the question is not about the war itself, it is simply about what the people of Iraq now care most about: The future of the people and nation of Iraq.
So, the question is a simple one: Were the Iraqi people better off before the war (in the last generation...about 20 years) or are they better off today?
Which of the following statements do you most closely agree with?
The people of Iraq were better off before the war (in the last 20 years or so).
(4 votes for 57.14%)
The people of Iraq are better off today.
(3 votes for 42.86%)
