Winnipeg Refugee Education Network (www.winnipegrefugee.org) is proud to announce..
.... We're hitting the ROAD! We are very excited to take this opportunity to network, connect, and socialize with like-minded individuals and groups in the communities that we will be visiting! There are a couple of programs we would particularly like to present and discuss. These include:
1. The Refugee Education Sponsorship Program: Enhancing Communities Together (RESPECT). In this program, we endeavor to raise awareness among young people about refugee issues, reinforce this awareness by introducing them to refugee young people in refugee schools via letter exchange, and further build on this by encouraging youth to organize to raise funds for their sponsored refugee school and/or send material aid.
2. Refugee Youth Program: In association with Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR), we are looking to encourage interested youth groups to liase with CCR to bring refugee issues important to youth and issues important to refugee youth into the national dialogue.
3. We are very interested in hearing about all of the interesting projects that you are doing. This is a great chance for us to learn from each other, get to know each other, and perhaps even coordinate future projects and work across the prairies!
We will departing Winnipeg August 18th and endeavoring to return August 25th. Our proposed schedule is as follows:
Depart Winnipeg August 18th -->
Arrive Saskatoon August 18th (eve)
Depart Saskatoon August 19th -->
Arrive Edmonton August 19th (eve)
Depart Edmonton August 20th -->
Arrive Banff August 20th (eve)
Depart Banff August 22nd -->
Arrive Calgary August 22nd (eve)
Depart Calgary August 24th -->
Arrive Regina August 24th (eve)
Depart Regina August 25th -- Arrive Winnipeg August 25th.. Home sweet home..
** Please note - there is some flex to this schedule, so if there is an important event on or around the day that we will be in your city, please tell us -- it is possible we can arrange to attend. ALSO, please note departure and arrival times are flexible. Generally arriving in the evenings means we can make ourselves available for dinner in late afternoon, drinks in the evening. We can also make ourselves available the morning of departure for a yummy breakfast and that kind of thing.
** If there are any generous individuals who would be able to billet us on this journey, as a group or individuals, we would very much appreciate the offer! Offers to host dinner/lunch meetings in your home would also be appreciated to keep this initimate and economical! Otherwise this is a camping excursion!

If you are from Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, or Edmonton, please feel free to meet with us! We will be traveling through these cities between August 18 & August 25. It is a great chance to NETWORK!
