The Nigerian Youth Pauper. - A celebration of NYSC at 31
July 28, 2004 - 10:20 AM

NYSC - means National Youth Service Corp. It was established by law on May 22, 1973 to mobilize Nigerian Youths for nation building and to prepare them for patriotic and loyal service to their fatherland. They are all graduates from various universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. And the age range is 18 - 30 years of age. In the beginning of the programme which has a duration of one year, they are addressed as Nigerian youth corpers.During this period they are paid stipends by the federal government as living allowance. At the end of the 12 months of the NYSC programme, when you see most of these youths in the months and years ahead they are no longer the Nigerian Youth Corpers they used to be. They would have become Nigerian Youth Paupers - no thanks to unemployment. WE NEED FRESH IDEAS ON HOW TO COMBAT YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA. IS NYSC STILL RELEVANT? DONATE YOUR IDEAS HERE. THANKS.

Now You Suffering Continues...

Now You Suffering Continues.....that is what N.Y.S.C. stands for in the Nigerian Palance. Our surffering in the So-called Educational Sector of Service to ones' Humanity (our country )is like a punishment or deathtrap in dusguise.

In Youths...who should we trust ?
March 14, 2005 - 08:50 AM

This question pops up in regards to present issues in our country. The raeaction of Univeristy Administrators to Students' Protest ha degenerated to killings and blackmails.

Most often, the casualty is sson forgotten. The current trends of baits in the educational sector is also dis-heartening. ASUU seems to be having a field day with the result of students. By the way, we do trust ?

Students ahve decided to be used by the autocrats in power, whom would stop at noyhing to destroy the very essence of our bright future. The are a wasted generation, we are the experimental genration, so the next generation is our responsibility...ok !
