First, find out about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Then come up with an idea for work you (and friends) can do in your community or one nearby to address the MDGs. Use your imagination, but be effective. Then talk to your teacher about getting academic credit for your work in the community. Some colleges and universities offer research/reading courses that you can design with a faculty member. Download the plan from http://www.surveytools.com/academiccredit.doc and please tell me what you think. Are you interested?
