Hi there,
I am pretty impressed that a 17 year old American is aware of the situation in Burma...I myself being a Malaysian is not aware of the current Burma state too until I took a political science course and realised the terrible situation in Burma...You can start educating your peers about St. East Asia and then focus on Burma. Have you read about Aung San Suu Kyi's book, Freedom from Fear? If not, read it. Maybe that is a good book for a christmas present for your bookworm friends.
