Global Conflict - developing a method of resolution...
June 17, 2004 - 09:26 AM

Hey everyone,

We've all heard of the international conferences and global summits that seem to bring everybody and everything together into one place, and some of us may have even been delegates or participated in the planning or staging of one.

What I'd like to do right now is tap into that experience and passion and translate what advice can be shared here into something workable for an international conference/congress on global conflict.

I'd like to put to this community a few questions.

1) If there was something that you felt was lacking in an event you've been to or heard of, what was it? What could have been done to improve it? What would you like to have had done differently?

2) What do you really want to see come from an international congress? Is finding common ground more important than engaging in truly open debate? Would you want to see a manifesto created or something more akin to a working document, or perhaps tangible recommendations that can be taken back by the delegates , or a mixture of the three?

and lastly

3) If there is something that has never been tried before, or that you think is under-utilised or ignored or just plainly considered too difficult to attempt in the context of an international event, what is it? How would you apply it to the question of resolving global conflict?

The thread is of course open to anything else you might have to say. The above is simply a sample of some of the things that might get you thinking.

I just think its important to involved as many people as possible at this early stage.

So, let's hear from you!!!
