A definition of patriotism

This is paraphrased ... Patriotism: A person "... best supports his (or her) government by creating friendliness through kindness and generosity wherever fate may carry him (or her)" - taken from inside of a public memorial in Indianapolis, Indiana.
I think the meaning is more than superficial. We're all defined by what we do. We're none of us defined by what we say we stand for. The motto of the Freechild Project at http://www.freechild.org/ is "Only through actions do words take power". I agree completely.
