When????

Do you think the war in Iraq will ever end? I mean there's like many people dying. I also, heard that an american soldier got his head chopped off. And you can see the video if you have Kazaa. It is so sad, and sick. They even showed who killed the poor soldier. Well, do you think it will ever end? If not then why? Please don't ignore this and please reply.

When all is said and done will it be worse than both the road to and the result of a nation then still under the leadership of Saddam?
I am eager to see someone answer this exact question (as opposed to answering another question like, "It would have been better if someone else had overthrown Saddam" simply because this was *not* going to happen).
Simple debate tactic, answer a different question...anyone, honestly answer this one.

well now, very few people read the reports on atrocities in the sadam era or know of them in the middle-east now adays. Everybody starts calling harsh treatment torture. Ask at least 300.000 souls what they would qualify it. The answer will come in the trial of sadam.
Young fugitives where not happy thinking of the loss of life that would transpire but saw it as the only way to get rid of a vile dictatorship. Standing by is not an option. As it is also not for sudan.

There really is no answer right now. We must wait this one out and see. I will hazzard an "answer" to the original question "Do you think the war in Iraq will ever end?". Even if the US pulls out completely (which I don't personally think will happen for a while unless the new Iraqi govt actually throws them out...which I hope they do) there is so much historical strife in that region that it will be difficult to keep peace. A few points: Iran (speaks for itself), the Kurds (some of whom are Iraqis) want their own country I'm sure, and all the other groups (namely Al Qaeda) who want the region destabilized so they can recruit "disgruntled" fighters into their fold. There is, and has been for the past almost 100 years, a very complex situation in Iraq. It's future can't be foretold by a few armchair pundits like ourselves. All we can really do is hope for the best and be honest.

Very interesting ...

No doubt older than most of you; I grew up in the Vietnam era .. closer to the end; but when all is said and done ... our involvement will continue in various ways, even after the last American ..(and other foreign troops engaged there), depart.
Once we enter .. we don't seem to leave on schedule .. and
our departure too soon will cause even further bloodshed.
Please don't mistake my meaning; most of the World War II generation, and those that served in Vietnam .. wish we had
never become involved .. They are fascinating teachers .. and even they ... wish our young servicemen and sevicewomen home; and not tomorrow ... now.
It shall take many years to have Iraq recover.
Brutality exists on both ends, ours, and theirs ... look at the prisoners and how they were mistreated .. those are war crimes .. and yes, Daniel Pearl and Mr. Berg ... beheaded ..
All need to be held accountable; and I wish the Americans involved in those brutal actions, along with their commanding officers, sent to prison .. and never let out.
Harsh ?? yes ..

What is going on now is a civil disobidiace and any thing will be better than Saddam but if Iraq does not use the US to build a good Nation in a good Land the Sin is on their heads and June the 30 th will be here very very soon. and I will Vote for Bush If he will tare down the fence between here and Mexico, heck I will even do some politicing for him if he will do that one little thing. An old Ford and a short piece of chain is all he would need to do it. Peace/out Gene

No one likes walls or fences; but I don't agree with an open field between the United States and Mexico .. that is asking for problems.
One doesn't know who or what could enter, have you thought of this ?

I agree with you, Nugene, on this.
Fences do nothing to create value between both sides. Further, they serve to promote animosity among Mexicans about America...i.e. - why do they want to keep us out? why do they think they are "better"?, why don't they trust us?
I see the same issue (to a much greater extent) going on now in Israel (a topic that I don't want to get dragged into again). Still...how can peace and partnerships be developed across a fence?
God Bless

I can understand both points; but as your opinions stand, mine does, too .. Yes fences do not promote amiable conditions; but this country has allowed Mexicans in; many .. and it's not a question of " who's better .. me, or them .. " That's a typical remark.
It has come to the point where open borders create, or might create entry by non-Mexicans, intent on terror, and don't believe this might not happen.
Sadly, this is what we have to face.
Dogs ??? Is that what you consider the Mexicans ??? I never did, nor does anyone else I know ...
The quote you use is insulting.

Leslie I did not quote anyone those are my words and you have twisted them into I don

't know what. Mexican people are the nicest people in the world, they are fun to be around and who doesn't love Mexican food and there are many kinds and styles. You probably eat only at Taco Bell. This Nation is made up of all kinds of people and some of the worst people of the world call her home. Do you think that we are able to defended ourselves from the Canadians but we have to have a Fence againist Mexico and don't tell me that that fense is to keep out cattle with Mexican Dieses 'cause I have never seen a cow jump anywhere near that height. And you twisted my word to mean that I thought Mexican people are Dogs, they did not put up the fense, we did, we would be the ones putting up the sign that would say "Beware of Dogs", so who am I saying are the Dogs? A Friend, Gene
P.S: The Fense is coming down any way. There are road crews working on an international highway right now very near Memphis, TN., that will connect Taronto, Detroet, Mexico City and later further south and north.
P.P.S.: Sorry Tasnim, You asked about Iraq not war in general but war is Hate and I would really really like to see that fense come down and I, too, would like to Have Seen(Past Tense) the Last War. Sincerely, Gene
