HIV Awarrness
Feb 6, 2010

AIDS is one of the fast emerging diseases which is rapidly spreading among the world today specially in the African continents...
This is a grave problem in the current world and due steps should be taken by governments and all other relevant public bodies..
publicizing the concept of "safe sex" should be implemented on individuals minds...also attention should be given to pregnant mothers eho hold this condition

awarrness should be spreaded as to how one might get aids as well..for instance

aids cannot be given by an injection because the virus only lasts for 54 seconds outside the human body.

also aids cannot be caused by kissing as ul have to drink atleast 2 gallons of spit in order to catch the disease.

women who are subjected to rape should also be given attention as they are helpless..they should also be aware that femidons are available in the market. this could protect them against the deadly disease..

public awarness is a must to eradicate this condition
IT could be effectively used to show the repurcussions of this human life swallowing threat

after all prevention is better than cure..

common fever, swine influenza (AH1N1) are some diseases which you can't prevent by yourself...but AIDS can be prevented by your self.....what do you want is make people aware on this matter .....accordiong to my view if we can spread this message among school leavers and university students.

do you know a Philippine doctor has invented a pre immune injection as a barrier to AIDS

Yes someone should a find a new medicine or a curing method for HIV...

But then people wont try to prevent HIV as it can be cured......

Also there are children who are suffering from HIV ...Im really sorry for them.....

Most of them are suffering from HIV because of their parents misbehaviour....

Those children must be cured....

Anyway I think that there should be some kind of correct treatment for HIV..

Dont you think guys......

This is a kind of problem that can be dealt with by working together and disciplining ourselves.

Unlike contagious diseases this can prevented easily. We shouldn't stand and wait till a cure is cure is found.
Isn't it always better to prevent it???

People were not that eduacated on this. But people are starting to notice. They are taking actions. I agree with earlier posts. We have to do whatever we could locally and work upwards the ladder.

yes sheroze...discipline is one major issue i think....because learning to discipline your self could be the best way to prevnt HIV.....and also as i have stated before IT and media should deffinetly be used as an awarness resource for the prevention of this...

the biggest gap in the HIV awareness in my country is that the people who advocate for HIV testing do not offer relevant councelling on how to live with the virus. i.e. after the testing and you are HIV- what should you do? what lifestyle should you adopt to ensure that you are protected? how do you ensure that for a life time you are consious of HIV risk behaviors? and when you are HIV+ what should you do next? when do you start taking medicines? how do you live?
so people are scared to have an HIV test.. and most HIV campaighs do not target behavior chnge... they just do awareness whithout providing solutions to behavior change.. what we need are HIV awareness campaighns that are strategically and holistically developed to lead people to behavior change...

Yeah HIV is a horrible decease that cannot be cured but i also think it's unfair for all those poor people to suffer from AIDS while all these scientists are busy developing Arms & preparing other sorts of war equip.

I think that all these so called scientists should put their heads down & start finding a cure for aids & stop these innocent children from suffering like this...i mean living while knowing that your going to die any minute is horriblesad if they discovered cures for deceases like Tuber Colo-sis (TB) which used to be incurable about 45 years ago i'm sure they can do the same to HIV...

yea i agree with you that its hard to carry on with your life after you know that you have HIV...i think its mainly up to the people who live around the person who has HIV...

What usually happens is that people ridicule the person who is affected..this is a problem...they try to corner the poor fellow and not treat him like they used...this a major reason why most carriers of the disease commit suicide later...this is an extremly sad situation..i think its the people around them who can give the disease carriers the mental motivation to be happysmile

for example i went to a workshop on HIV aids and there was this certain gentleman who was working very hard to educate us on every aspect of being safe from this disease

Later towards the latter part of workshop...we were all sooo absorbed....and then he told us that he was a disease carrier...we were all sooo shocked...

and he was telling how people ridicule him and he implored us to respect people like him....

we all felt really sorry..
