Why Do We Get Sooo Much Homework???

HEY, Teacher! Just because you can't cover everything in class, doesn't mean that you can make me do work at home, where i'm supposed to be able to have my own free time! Plus, this month, I've had at least 2 1/2 hours of homework, IN GRADE 7!!!

Well, two things: (1) as the saying goes, "to whom much is given, much is also expected" Maybe, your teacher is trying to train you to read and write. While, it is not always an effective task to cultivate discipline, still it gives you a sense of responsibility; and (2) well, maybe, just maybe your teacher's getting info from you. Maybe s/he's not doing her job and the only way to find out is, if s/he checks the facts, the grammars and the details of your homework. If s/he doesn't do that then s/he's just wasting your time. Checking of homework is a lot of work too, don't you think? 
Don't get upset. Do your best. I'm not being preachy or something but you are fortunate that you are studying, problematizing homework or quizzes and not the meal to eat for the day.

Two and a half hours of homework a month in Grade seven and you are angry? Boy, Canadian education sure spoils kids!
I had that much every day!

I wish i could go back to grade seven that was when you barely got any homework now im in 10th grade and have 2 and a half hours everyday it sucks.......But whatever because at least i don't have to stay home and sit around all day doing chores and stuff..i get enough of that on the weekends and plus school is where you meet people............ school might suck but at least your not alone...

two and a half hours of homework - in one month, i would say you're lucky...wait until you get to highschool. take advantage of this privlage while you have it!
