We've changed

Everyday is changed, that's because we've changed. Why would we do something like that?
The answers all come down to either money, property, or power. Why only these three answers?
Because we've became greedy, and these three are the things that are the most valuable, most powerful and most influencial tools a person can use to change the world to a utopis of his/her own.
And the bottom line is: selfishness.

thats exactly it!!...money, property and power is the three thing people now live for and fight for...and it has become either winning or losing and we can see it in every corner of the world...people have become more selfish and greedy and there is not a lot of people who are willing to sacrifice for others...although those good deeds can still be found...for it is those that try to replace the bad with the good everyday...as the world, sadly, turns the other way everyday.

People want change, and they see it wont come without some effort. Thats why there is so much unrest. Somebody is trying something and it raises unrest that way.

mystikaleyez.
Thank you for bringing up this topic first of all. Yes, even if we ourselves dont see this in our life personally, all the things mentioned are happening around the world. We need to open our eyes to the raw truth. What ARE we doing to put a stop to this? Dont just sit there and say "its not my problem to fix the world of its problems. I'm not dealing with any of this, so why should i care?!" Arrogance... We're all part of this world, and we all need to do our part to stop this. Even if you just talk to people in their time of need, if they need to talk can help. Talk things out rather than violence. Dont hurt another, love them. I implore you all to stop the terror. If you dont want to listen to me, fine, you dont have to, just take a look around, and THEN decide what you personally should do.

Like most people have said - the world is changing - but it's up to people like us to control what it changes into.
On this site we have debates and arguements about different religions, topics - every shpere of our lives.
But there is one thing i believe everyone who is here for the right reason feels - we can make a possitive difference.
Yes we all have doubts about this sometimes - Kaiser did a few days back (sorry to use you as an example mate but it's a good example) - we all rallied round him to help him get back to his normal self.
We've got a special community here on TIG - now all we need is to reach out to the 6 billion individuals who we share this planet with and get them in here too.

It amazes me how many people see the truth but don't want to embrace it. Lone wolf, it is one thing to see the truth, but another to embrace it.
Evil comes from sin. When people sin, they set in motion the dynamics that bring destruction to the world. How can it be so simply? Because all of us have a role in affecting the world. By accepting the injustice in our own backyards, means that we accept the bigger injustices that surround us in everyday life.
For example, Pornography is a multibillion dollar industry. People don't want to say anything against it, because of the love they have for it. But when you look at Pornography deeper, you begin to see the deep cut into the fabric of life. I often think of these billions going from the pockets of porn operators into the building of orphanages and other programs. Or the building of women's esteem.

Raising the stakes

Raising the stakes to over the 6 point something people we are now is how far some individuals are willing to gamble their lifes on!
The winners will rise. IT is a race to IT IT to stop or control the games of a few while others never get to play.
Just see who is building the best dictionary or staying dormant in epqintelligence.
Who will the smartest kids follow with ensurances that no one gets hurt in helping the possible million orphans in one future one million planet city with all the same opportunities as you have. Being so hurt and confused.
Follow the religion of people of your same age and devotion to epqsalvation.
Gossip carries far wireless and connected!

Not Neo. I would like to start this by saying i liked very much your first posting on this discussional. Yes, i think it is up to us in this small community to bring up others and to get them to realize things too. But i would also like to say something to Bladerunner. Dont mean to be mean, but i dont like pornography. You said "our love for it", i dont love it. I think its, and please overlook my childish word to describe this but it does describe it perfectly, icky. And i think that its up to us all to try and stop these terrible things in the world from happening. We can try in so many different ways, this discussion in itself is one way to try and stop it! Think about it, say someone comes across it and reads all our posts and suddenly realizes how what we're discussing makes sense, and is true. Isnt that doing something to help our world too? This comminuty of a site helps in issues itself, As we discuss things. True there is always more we can do, but its one step, one person at a time.

When we see an injustice we are doing nothing if we don't act on it. There are a few hundred groups doing things to help build a better world - and thats just on TIG.
If we want to solve the worlds problems we have to think on a global scale and speak to people all around the world who feel the same way.

Problem solving it like have a really sharp axe, and problem is a big tree with many roots. You must know where to hit to make maximum "damage" to the tree. You dont get lots of chances to hit, you see !
LONE WOLF : How do you think - have i done an excellent comparison?

Whats Happening to our world? A very big question that always pop up on my mind..... I don't know whats really happening on our world right now... Honestly, this is not the world everybody wants and expects... The world is full of chaos as of now.. Violence everywhere: pollutions, bombings, killings, environment destruction, terrorism and so on... I dont know when and where it all started.. sometimes i asked myself if I have to be blamed why this is happening???... so confused... everybody wants a change.... they are all very hungry for a change....but I think these will all start within our very self..

Heya guys,
Talking about changes. Easy to change, difficult to change. It is all up to us, the "I". Since young, I have decided not to succumb to group pressure and that is why, I am not popular in school. But, Barghhhh, what the heck I do not care about them, anyway.
Bangkok changes me. The people despite poor teaches me a lot of things in life that I will not experience in Kuala Lumpur, itself. I am always living under the protective umbrella that my parents have given me.
I am starting to walk without the umbrella now. To walk the thousand miles, we usually begin with the first step right? Perhaps you guys can start donating a little of your pocket money to the needy too, even though it doesnt makes the whole world an angel. But, something you do means a lot to that particulat speck in the mad world.
Would you guys dare to join my team to walk without your umbrella? Maybe some will not part with their money, perhaps you can just log on to Amnesty, and sign all the petitions,in order to support human rights...
I challenge you to walk without your umbrella once in a while!

Humanity is defined by selfishness
December 1, 2004 - 09:42 AM
|
|
Whoever it was earlier who said that "the bottom line is selfishness" is exactly correct. However, what is not often realised is that selfishness is perfectly natural. It is the result of human epistemological processes that we are selfish. The very manner in which we learn about the world teaches us to be selfish. Little wonder, then, that as we interact as adults we continue what we learnt as children.

What this means is that in order for humans to escape this cycle, we must do what is unnatural. That is, we must care about the stranger. We must love that which is completely foreign, alien and opposed to us. Being kind only to those who are kind to us does nothing other than reinforce the selfishness.

Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you.
