Dear Friends,
I wanted to hint to you of what Kibera Community Youth Programme,a member of TIG;is planning in the month of August.
We realize that art plays i more important role in transforming our society and educating it while entertaining at the same time,it is within this line that we have thought of an idea of having an artists event come late August so as to unite and fight HIV/AIDS which it taking away most of we (youth).
Within this event,we plan to recognize the most outstnding and creative artists whose compositions can be used as best practices.
The categories will be as :
Plays and skits
Narratives
Poems
Songs
Traditional Dances
The themes of this two days event will revolve around:
Stigma reduction and positive living
Youth Livelihoods
Prevenetion of Mother to Child Transmission
Behavioural Change
We are still in the planning stage and would require your help in getting resources towards making this event a success.Any ideas are wellcome
We are currently implementing a stigma reduction campaign in the community through the use of Community Theatre in collaboration with Population Services International-Kenya and have seen the effects of using community theatre hence the resolution of hosting this event.
Please if you have any ideas, you can get intouch with me at the address below.
Yours,
Fredrick Ouko
