Racism in Schools

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing a research project on Racism in schools, and I wanted to find out more about some experiences or situations that you may have been involved in with Racism. Have you ever noticed people (particularily children or young adults) being discriminated against because of their race, religion, or background? If you have, can you please post a reply to this thread, and I would really appreciate if you tell me about the incident, the comments or actions against the individual or group, and as well as the victim's race. This information would be very helpful to my research and my study.

I am white and dated a black girl my senior year of high school. I got some dirty looks from some whites but one day these two black girls whom I barely recognized and didn't know stopped me in the hallway and congratulated me! Huh? This puzzled me back then but now I realize that blacks aren't nearly as racist as whites.

I'm Asian. People assume that asians are smart. I'M NOT SMART! I've got people that asks me stuff that we're going to learn. They ask me if I could help them. Well, that's the better term of saying than do my homework. They assume I'm smart just beacause I'm asian.

I'm Asian (Azn pride!) and I got some stupid comments like I do homework and study 24/7 and I eat cats and dogs (which I do not.) These comments were made by ignorant people who really didn't know me at all and just judged me on my race. grrrrrrrrrr! >
