Peace is always possible

Hello everyone,
This quote was send to me via a regular quote service of CharityFocus and as we are particularly working for a global peace so i thought i'd share it!
"True peace is always possible. Yet it requires strength and practice, particularly in times of great difficulty. To some, peace and non-violence are synonymous with passivity and weakness. In truth, practicing peace and non-violence is far from passive. To practice peace, to make peace alive in us, is to actively cultivate understanding, love, and compassion, even in the face of mis-perception and conflict. Practicing peace, especially in times of war, requires courage." --Thich Nhat Hanh

the enemy is shooting at you
the enemy, no, the other party doesn't not want to consider your story even when you are trying to understand his/her or its story
the enemy is killing and crushing everything and is only after its is own egoistic interests, not interested in common good.
where will courage come from?
where will hope come from?
where will perseverance come from?
how will i keep from retaliating?
what is the point of risking my life even when the enemy wins at last?
yes, peace is possible but maybe one needs trust in God before going on any non-violence mission for without trust in God or our creator then our struggles and suffering for peace is a futile horrendous struggle.

Hello,
[words of Dadi Janaki]"It is not necessary to search for peace. It is within. Internal feelings can also pull you away. Tiredness for example, leads to irritablity. There is some thing that you can do to help create peace in the world & that is to make yourself peaceful. The power of self realisation will work wonders in transforming destructive mental habbits. You will stop blaming others. Peace is made up of many things; love, patience & wisdom."--Renuka Markande[/B][/QUOTE]

it is necesary that we search for peace, the peace that comes with tranguility. it is within yet without. it is the outside 'i' going inside 'i' to find tranguility and repose for the outside i. it is a deliberate choice to go for the long chase, looking beyond the horizons. we have to work hard in our search for peace. it reguires practise so that we accept ourselves and others as special and unigue individuals who are gifts in our lives. it rests in our resting in the the felt yet unknown so as to understand and accept our very turbulent known world.
