I think that because we are all humans we should help each other. If that means letting people into our country that have no place to go then that is what we need to do.

Well.
The way I see this is that there are 3 types of opinions.
The first is: We should help them, hence offer them a place to stay permanently with a secure future for them AND their family.
The second is: We need to help them, though it'd be better if it was someone else's problem.
And the third is: These people are cue jumpers. Send them back to where they came from, and who cares what happens to them.
My greatest grievance is not about how the third violates so many UN protocols, including the universal declaration of human rights, but also that the average citizen seems to agree with it. At least, in Australia.
That said, do what you can to let others know you believe in the first. The second opinion is just for people who dont understand the concept that each human has the power to do good.
