Racism In The Music Industry

I find that there is a lot of racial comments being put into song lyrics. And then sold to millions and millions of people. I think that this is a HUGE issue. Because it may be affecting the minds of young listeners, and even some adults. I personally think that racial comments shouldn't be allowed in music, considering what an influince is has on society. What do you think about this HUGE issue, that is being played off as something "not so important" ?

I also agree with the thought of music industries putting racist songs and selling it to millions of people is very unpleasent. Sometimes people get an negative idea from music like this if they don't know much about the race. Also this is similar to spreading a humor. Since the music is being sent to millions of people it speards a bias message of that race.

The problem with your posts over almost every dicussion board is that your arguement is too vague. In music yes blacks are racist to whites (believe it or not) and whites are racist to blacks. I can see that your making a point to say that there should be more more in music, but that means people like DMX, 50 cent, and eminem can't use "racist words" which generally mocks their own race by saying them.

There are ALOT of racist comments in lyrics. Although it doesn't specificly say black or white people, they use slang to replace them to make it seem like we don't know what they are saying.

Even though the idea of insulting others because of their race is horrible, it does exist. Our race isn't something we have control over. In hip hop music, the lyrics are meant to speak out about the struggle and hardship and being harrassed racially maybe one of those hardsips that they are trying to over come. I don't think they should stop selling records like that, because they are the only ones brave enough to say what's really on their minds.

See, the strange thing is that some of the time the words that artists use in their music is talking badly about thier own race. It's one thing to have others saying racial comments about you, but to talk that way about yourself it just doesn't make sence. Lots of songs talk about the stuggles that races have gone through, but talking about yourself like that just puts you right back down where you started again, because if you can talk about yourself that way, it's like giving others permission to talk about you the same way.
