Firstly - javivolo; you should stand tall. A lot of young people think of doing what your doing, but lose sight through all the stuff that gets flung their way.
dont lose sight. whatever you do. stay focused.
Everyone here is behind you - and we want you to succeed.
So, my second point is to take a look at how you'll go about approaching what you want to achieve.
One of the ways you can do this is to check out the ideafund application process for a list of the things you would need to consider in setting up your foundation.
And the third point is - i am behind you 101% of the way. And if you ever want anything from me - im more than willing to help.
Dream Well.

Well to get a great start, do what I did, spend years scouring the internet and meeting new people in your everyday life. Try to visit places where you know you may stumble across activists. I come from an area where there are very FEW people who honestly care about this subject. No one here wants to help take part in my ideas or just plain dont like it. So I did the next best thing, hit the internet. There is no other place better to find people who are willing to help you. Activism is a touchy area for many people who belive it is unimportant to have a firm grasp on the power of your voice. We are a very select few who dream to make our voices heard.
I know exactly how you feel about creating a youth network, I too dreamt about it for years, and got no where. Eventually I ran into the right people, befrended the organizations out there and even ran into TIG/ YouthNOISE/ SavetheChildren/ and various other networks. I am currently taking an active role in all of these communities in order to build my own network. I hope you do the same. Take part in existing communities, build a website, share your ideas and views. Chances are, if your successful elsewhere, such as here, you will be very successful on your own. Please stick with it, it took me years to get where I am today, and dont think this can occur overnight. I have had times when I was thinking of dropping the whole idea...dont feel that way like I did.

About Making a Youth Network interested in Peace

Dear Javier and Sofia: My name is Martin and I am from Buenos Aires.
I support 100% your idea, and widh to help you with everything you need.
By the way, I'm the Founder and Director General of MINU, an international youth organization that develops Educational and Interactive Projects.
We are seed in Buenos Aires, but make projects world-wide.
In 2003 we are going to run, in Buenos Aires, more than ten projects, that are simulations (UN, Parlament, EU, etc), Conferences, Workshops, and much more. And also, we are going to do plenty projects by internet.
Our webpage is www.minu.org but is currently under reconstruction. The only thing that appears in there is the Virtual Model UN that was our first project that we have being doing this last two years.
I hope we keep in touch and you are welcome to join us and, of course, if you create a network, MINU will be pleased to co-operate in everything we can.
I look forward to hear from you all.
My e-mail is sg@minu.org and
my MSN is Martingalanternik@hotmail.com
Saludos!!

Hi everyone,
firstly I'd like to recognise any advice from Martin Galanternik - I knew him when he first started MINU, and the group's come very far since then!
More generally, I think that the most important thing that starting up a new group involves is a genuine dedication and drive on your own behalf that you want to achieve your objectives. One you have that drive, it's just about the details of how you go ago getting there.
I am a member of the Executive Bureau of the Young European Federalists, one of the more active youth NGOs at a European level, and we have an online "infopool" which offers a lot of advice and guidelines on how to start up a team - and what to do once you're up and running.
I can strongly recommend that you check it out at :
http://www.jef-europe.net/infopool/index.html
I hope that you and others on TIG will find it a useful way to get some ideas about how to move your own organisations forward.
Best regards,
Peter
