Animals in circuses GOOD or BAD ??

Hey people
I need some help i am doing animal care in college and i have an assignment on animals in circuses. i have to write about the good and bad points of the circuses and i find it quite easy to say ban all circuses with animals because it cruel. you dont see many circuses with animals in the uk any more but there seems to be animals in american circuses what are they doing different ???
please help

I have only been to a circus once in my life, and that was in Venezuela as a little boy. I hated its surreal environment... and specially the stupid clowns (they were not funny).
Not that this is much of an opinion, but I just had to get that out of my chest...

I don't go to the circus that much - and i never go to ones which have animals - but having said that i know it's a very big generalisation to say that they are all kept in poor, cruel conditions

I HATE the circuses that use animals!!! They're kept in cramped cages wen they're not practicing or performing, that's especially bad 4 the big 1's. I don't even think that they care about the animals. How they feel if they had to do what hey do. Not a very atractive lifestyle. that's the reason i'll never go to 1 like that. I don't mind the circus's without animals some of them are actually quite good such as Cirque de Solei ( it's spelt something like that)

It is true that most circuses that use animals maltreat them but it is not the same everywhere.Even some of them knoww that u can get an animal to love u more and do what u want it to through pstting than through manhandling.I think its okay for animals to be used in circuces cos its all part of the fun.
