Accesibility

Im talking strictly wheelchairs/blind people/bike lanes. Here in Toronto, not even close to everything is wheelchair accesible. Only approx. 37 out of a number WELL OVER 100 bus routes are wheelchair accessible. Out of all the community centers I've seen, all have been wheelchair accessible, but what about for blinds. Only one had automated doors. I have seen blinds who got hit by doors and it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. Instead, empathy filled me. It was really sad.
Also, bike lanes, although not as important are a big issue. Many people on bikes have been injured on roads because there weren't bike lanes, and any wheels 24" and higher are not allowed on the sidewalks. So bikes have to go on the streets and keep up with traffic! Wow, what about people who aren't as fit to keep up but wish to bike? Again, accessibility is a problem. Either you risk getting hit by a car on the road or you can get fined for riding on sidewalk (all in downtown). Whats your choice?
Any opinions on this whole article? Anything would be appreciated.
