I think that peace is possible but many want power in their lives.

Of course peace is possible. However, it would be very hard, because all the countries in the world need to come together and work together. Also, whole world need to be equal in order to obtain peace.

World Peace is an ideal of freedom , peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or people. A peace movement is a social movement that seeks to achieve ... or type of situation, often linked to the goal of achieving world peace like Kashmir people are doing in Kashmir.

I personally feel that peace will never be possible. Perhapes in certain areas, but as far as universally, I do not think it is even possible. I feel that each states looks out for its own interests, and that is compleatly natural and expected, but that because of this peace is unattainable.

I am optimistic & believe that peace is very attainable, even if only on a small scale. It is possible to create a positive energy by looking for ways to be kind to the people around you, being gracious and not letting small things bother you, and by offering help without any expecting a reward.

quest for power, conflict and survival of the fittest is unfortunately part of the human nature.Nothing is impossible but very improbable at a world scale, people are too different and religion plays a big role in this difference.

Peace is not possible if we keep blaming other people for the lack of peace, either in this world or in our personal lives. "Improvement begins with I"- In a perfect world, if we all strive to make peace possible then it will be possible. Do I think everyone in this world is striving towards this goal? NO!

World peace which to me should start from our hearts, then in our individual households and then into our immediate communities.
love your neighbour as yourself and there will be generalised peace.

I think peace is possible, but it would take the cooperation of almost everyone. It would also take a lot of work. Maybe we should aim for something easier first, and then have steps to peace. War is more expensive. Careful thought would be required to keep away from all out chaos or a utopian society that few people agree with.
I think steps are the key, and I agree that peace within families is a stepping stone.

Well first of all, nothing is impossible. Such things can only be hard to attain, but still makes it possible. The only reason we're not getting any further with these global issues is because of that. But yes, we need to find a strategy so that everyone co-operates. Then we can work on it slowly by sorting out the conflicts and so on. However, internal conflicts between friends and family are normal. That kind of 'non-peace'is necessary or else we wouldn't be called humans at all. Although if it was reduced and everybody just understood each other better, then it would make a HUGE difference. With that step accomplished and maintained, the mission to attain global peace will have started. smile

Also, in order to achieve peace anywhere, there needs to be equality and understanding. Without that, the conflicts would get deeper than necessary. Conflicts are necessary in life in order to learn, but if gone deep, then help is required.

I believe it is. Peace starts withourselves. We must become peaceful people before we see a peaceful world.

Thanks for such an interesting discussion!

I think peace is difficult to attain as there are so many different beliefs as to what that would look like.

Like others have said, I think it has to start within yourself and your actions, and doing everything possible in our lives to create it.

I think we have a very long way to go, but I'd like to think it is possible.

I can not only hope. I can do so much more.

xo

Until some of the world's most influential cultures begin to transition from those with an individualistic focus where one's status over others represents success, to cultures that instead recognize altruistic and selfless actions, I believe that peace will be difficult to attain.
