Quite a bit!

I think Che is one of the revolutionaries and leaders who shaped the present day Cuba. I think the followoing site will give you a bit about his biography and show you links to other sites that have information about him and most of all what makes the kids wear him.

There you leave me wondering whether the links were helpful in answering your initial question or not.

About "Peace is Priceless!", it is a very simple idea to understand. I believe that no matter the price you pay to have peace, it is worth every bit. Just look around the world today and see how much unrest there is whether political or not. Do you not think that the solution lies with us? We simply do not want to pay that price and thus have little or no peace!

Am not an advocate of Che. So do not think this phrase comes to justify any of his actions. I accept that violence is not the right price, and that is obvious because violence has never brought peace anywhere as far as my little mind knows. Think about it.

Peace is Priceless!
Lams

True!

Violence begets hatred, and I feel that one cannot justify violence with the revolution banner.

Regarding the T- Shirt issue, I have observed groups with Osama's T -Shirts as well, What has he done that makes him so great?

Just an issue of commercial deceit using the a popular symbol which can attract a particular group.

Cheers,

Udara

I agree with onelove and udara on the commercial deceit. However this is not the case within Cuba.
Many people own a Che t-shirt or something with his name or slogans. Where the rest of the world has advertising boards they have Che's face. It is part propaganda, part love of the man.
Che saw what the Imperialistic nature of Extreme Capitalism was doing in Argentina and Chile and how this had led to the Whites being superior over the Indiginous people in those lands. He recognized that people should be treated equally as opposed to the way that they are currently treated.
In Cuba he found other people with the same ideals and he joined the fight. Yes, he was a violent man, but he had a cause. He FOUGHT for what he believed in!

Che the Hero

What makes Che Guevara so important?

Well, Che is an enticing character to people for many reasons. He originally came from an upper-middle class family in Argentina studying to become a doctor. He could have gone on to live a very comfortable life in Argentina had he followed his original career plans, but instead he decided to take a motorcycle tour around South America. While on his tour, he was touched by the level of poverty and suffering on his continent and decided that he would be involved in some way to elevate the conditions of his people.

Che later became involved in the revolution in Cuba alongside Fidel Castro, to topple the American backed government of the day. When the revolution was complete, Che had top positions in the Cuban government, even acting as the Minister of Finance. Despite his leadership position, he found time to work in the fields bringing in the sugarcane harvest, and also to work construction jobs in housing developments for the people. He believed that mobilizing all citizens in developing a socialist state was necessary, and that working people would be the salvation of the third world states.

Che later moved on to assist socialist revolutions in Africa and Bolivia, where he was finally killed in battle.

I believe that although Che did use violence to attain his goals, he is still an honourable figure. His revolutionary forces did not engage in the cowardly tactics of attacks on innocent civilians, rather, his forces engaged in attacks on corrupt governments-engaging in conflict with armed forces.

Che lived his beliefs and died by them too.
