Aids...Again....

I'm sure somebody has thought of this before but why does AIDS remain the deadliest killer in Africa? I mean people "talk about it" and they "educate each other about it but really I dont see anything improving. Instead things are getting worse. Why? I mean what are we missing here? If we, as people of this world, were really doing anything to prevent the spread of Aids then I think that there would be signs of improvement, somewhere! Ok I am talking as somebody who has not done research but just through what I hear, read, see. I believe that there is something we are not doing here. There's a missing link and I really dont know what it is. Could it be that Africans still think that AIDS does not exist? People dont think it could happen to them huh???But why???? WHY DO WE THINK LIKE THAT? WHAT MINDSET DO WE AFRICANS HAVE THAT CAUSES US TO SUFFER AT THE HAND OF SUCH A DISEASE? it does not make sense to me...

I know that the treatments of AIDS are very expensive and many governments just don't have the money. I am not sure why there are not the large prevention programs like I have read about in many Asian countries.

This is going to be really off-topic, but Funky - could you tell me your experience in Zimbabwe - with Mugabe and the voting problems etc.
Be nice to hear your opinion on it.
Need a young persons view on it.
