Koreans caught on video torturing dogs & cats
February 3, 2004 - 07:59 AM
|
|
Like animal abuse? Apparently most Koreans do. In fact their government is trying to pass a law to legalize the already ongoing torture of dogs and cats while tons and tons of dog and cat meat is sold daily in several cities of South Korea. But this is not about what people eat, in as much as it is about sick torture. Hanging dogs from bridges and then beating them while they strangle? Yup! What about slowly electrocuting them using low and then higher voltages? Yup! What about forcing cats into high pressure steamers? Yup! We've seen it all and worse. http://www.seoulsearching.com/DogMeat.html
Let's not forget about the germs and disease these places breed. SARS? Bird Flu? It's all here baby. Meanwhile, the South Korean government lies about their citizens eating dogs and cats. First they admit it. Then they say no one does it. Then they say it is a minor group of people, and now they say they are trying to legalize it? We found over 250 dog and cat meat stores in one market area of one city alone. We saw some terrible things there. It's all on film and it is all on our Web site to expose the truth. Eat pigs, eat cows, eat dogs? Ok, fine! How about a humane method of killing, clean and safe standards and practices, and some form of inspections at minimal.
We're not some group of "save the world" tree huggers. Instead, we are foreigners who have traveled the world and this is the worst thing we've ever seen with respect to any and all animal abuse anywhere on the planet.
We adopted two cats from a South Korean humane society. The ONLY ONE in the entire country. It is a sad situation in South Korea and it is getting worse. Is your dog or cat missing? If you're in Korea, chances are, it's already dinner time!

Hi,
that is horrible! Have you contacted PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)about what you saw? www.peta.org
What can (young) people in other countries do about it?
Thank you for raising our awareness. Informing people is an important first step!

Man this is their tradition.
And you know how hard it is to tackle tradition.
Maybe by education from above (government of korea)
And maybe some well seen protests in America - make sure u attract lots of media attention

Actually it is NOT tradition
February 7, 2004 - 05:06 AM

The eating of dogs and cats is NOT tradition, nor is it the culture in South Korea. For a short period of time there was some dog and cat eating during the Korean War. However, this is not cultural. You will not find anything in Korean culture about this. Moreover, there was never any tradition about taking a blow torch to a dog or steaming a cat alive while also electrocuting it and beating it. These practices (in violation of South Korean laws, which are also NOT enforced) go on daily in South Korea. There is a direct connection between such animal abuse and murderers, rapists, and serial killers. What's that say about those people involved? What's that say about their government who now intends to make this LEGAL in South Korea?
Wait until we unload the really graphic video on our Web site. Let's see them try and argue that. http://www.seoulsearching.com/DogMeat.html
By the way, we are talking about a massive outdoor market area with several hundred stores in that one location alone that do this to dogs and cats daily. Some sell over 1,000 dogs per day.
Finally, we don't really care what people eat as long as the animal is not on the endangered list. We hate any and all animal abuse anywhere on the planet. What we are complaining about here is cruel, and unusual torture, and abuse of animals in a dirty setting that is very unsanitary. Animals are deliberately made to suffer in South Korea because the Koreans THINK that the meat is better for sexual pleasure if it is filled with adrenalin.
THAT'S THE ISSUE HERE. Deliberate abuse and neglect.

PETA IS A JOKE
February 7, 2004 - 05:22 AM
|
|
By the way, PETA is a joke. They do NOTHING about 99.9% of any and all animal abuse cases reported to them based on what we've seen thus far. We have contacted them many times with nothing coming back in the way of a reply as we risk our lives getting footage to prove these abuses take place.
PETA is known as a weak and ineffective agency that does one thing, MAKE MONEY. That's about all they do. You need to realize that the Koreans would rather see you DEAD than have any of this video get on the Internet. The Moran Market area in Seoul employs people to beat you up, throw you out, smash your camras, and essentially do whatever it takes to keep foreigners out. Now why do you suppose they do all of that if everything is fine?
This is very dangerous work. You also need to understand that if something were to happen to you in one of those animal markets, NOTHING would be done to help you. You're on your own. No police, no help, no nothing. IF you want to see some really bad abuse, let us know. We'll take you in. But it can be dangerous.

PETA is an wide spread organization with versatile field they have to oversee.
Obviuosly they dont have good leading staff and as result bad oversigth.
Voluntary funding is crucial for all association which arent self-producing/financing.
Maybe more radical activists left the PETA, coz disagreements. In any association you need to have high internal tolerance that you preserve its massiveness.
No matter how different your agenda might be, if you find a common ground you can have temporarily good cooperation.
Futurism is supportive to PETA, since they fight for preserving animals rights. And for vegetarian way of life.

PETA IS FULL OF CRAP
March 1, 2004 - 05:32 AM
|

Yeah right. The video I made is real time, on the ground, hands on, local knowledge of what is really happening in so-called animal rights issues in South Korea. I have NEVER EVER seen ANYONE from PETA HERE YET! NEVER! THEY DO NOT DO A DAMN THING EXCEPT CLAIM PRESS AND STEAL MONEY!
When PETA comes out in KNOWN AREAS OF EXTREME DANGER to cover stories like I do and actually enters the meat markets where they ILLEGALLY torture dogs and cats and also sell prostitution services to men who think that by eating tortured dogs and cats that there own sexual stamina increases, THEN MAYBE I'll give PETA the time of day.
This is a gras roots movement baby. One cam, one man, with the balls big enough to lay it all on the line to prove what the Koreans lie about.
UNTIL THEN, here is my Web page, my pics and my video.

Well, if we can't seem to get higher-ups involved, what do you suggest we do about the subject? Is there another organization that isn't so beaurocratic?

1 man, 1 cam, and the power of the Internet. I shoot the videos and the photos and you contact the media and tell them to cover the story. When the bad PR hits South Korea and they lose a few billion dollars in tourism, trade, exports, and foreign direct investment, MAYBE they'll get a clue, because as usual, money talks and bullshit walks.
MONEY baby. Put it into perspective they can understand. BOYCOTT ANY AND ALL South Korean products. If this story and a call to BOYCOTT ALL OF THEIR STUFF hits the wire, millions of people will see this crap AND.... people will respond.
Remember: 1) IT IS NOT CULTURAL AND IT IS ILLEGAL IN SOUTH KOREA TO EAT DOG AND CATS AND TO ABUSE ANIMALS.
2)THE TORTURE IS DONE DELIBERATELY IN SOUTH KOREA, TO ANIMALS.
3) These sick acts are done in heavily populated areas and these dog and cat markets take up several city blocks in several cities. Meanwhile police cars roll on by.
4) DOG AND CAT MEAT IS EXPENSIVE! This is not about poor people who can't afford to eat.
5) SO WHY IS IS GOING ON?
6) Because South Koreans THINK that this dog and cat beating makes the meat better for increasing sexual powers.
THAT'S IT! Nothing more, nothing less.
7) PROSTITUTES ARE PACKED INTO THOSE DOG AND CAT MARKETS!
8) Given the health risk from STD'S, Bird Flu, SARS, and Mad Cow Disease, among others, these illegally run places need to be SHUT DOWN NOW!
9) Pick up the phone NOW and call the press and give them my Web site address. http://www.seoulsearching.com/DogMeat.html
THAT is what you can do. IF enough people call and write the media, SOMEONE will get off their asses to cover the story.
10) The dog and cat markets are dangerous. You can be attacked, beaten, left for dead, or maybe killed by going into those places like I did. KOREANS DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT WANT THAT EVIDENCE GETTING OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND THEY SURE AS HELL DO NOT WANT IT ON THE NET!

We all know that such animal abuse takes place all over the African and Southeast Asian countries unfortunately...
Maybe if we can start a petition in TIG and send to South Korean officials (and also to some news sites or channels) this could make an effect. Please write to me. Maybe we can take part in making world a better place
And seoulsearching thanx for your awareness and effort

South Korean DELIBERATE animal abuse
March 16, 2004 - 08:10 AM
|

Yes but in most countries (AND WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT OTHER COUNTRIES) only South Korea for this topic, they do not DELIBERATELY TORTURE DOGS AND CATS WHILE ALSO LYING ABOUT DOING IT!
They do not deliberately hang and beat dogs while also slowly electrocuting them and blowtorching them alive in most other countries that I know of.
South Korea comes up with some sick and disgusting acts against animals.

PETA is an American organization, and they primarily focus their efforts here. I have my own issues with PETA- their abrasive, hate-mongering tactics, for one- but I would never say that they don't do anything. Thus, their refusal to acknowledge your tape gives me some pause.
If you're really interested in making this public, why not mail copies to various western news networks? I don't know if they accept tapes like that, but it might prompt some sort of their own investigation, or get aired on a slow night. Then again, if the tape is very graphic, it's unlikely to get aired in the US, at least.

that is horrible......i have been covering SARs and bird flu in my AP Biology class and we have disscussed the horribly close living conditions and unsanitary slaughtering practices of most of the countries in the area. it is just unfortunate that the same things(minus the gov. lying) happen in the us and all over the world everywhere. it is an issues not just a few fanactics but something that should be addressed by all the people in the world who have an inkling of compassion for any living thing.
