Is Muslims-Christians’ battle Ending?

Many years had gone, until now Filipinos are still suffering from the aftermath of conflict of Muslims and Christians. Many innocent people lost their lives because of this war. Our economy is declining, some foreign investors are now losing their trust to our government, and the rate of dollar is increasing only because of nonsense beliefs and traditions. They didn’t think that guns and bombs are not the solution to this problem that the best way is to understand and respect each other.

Muslims believe that they are deprived of their rights that our government is not fair with them, that justice is only for Christians. So far we cannot blame them; maybe they have important reasons why they ask for a separate state for Mindanao.

For me, I have no idea which side I should favor. If you just read and listen on news, magazines, television and radio there are so many opinions about this controversial issue. This is the deafening issue which is commonly and widely talked about even outside the country. Sometimes, we felt confused on which side to believe. Our armed forces are only following orders from officers higher on them. Muslims, according to them, are fighting for their freedom and equal justice system. Maybe we have no idea, because we are not in their situation, we didn’t know what are actually happening. We cannot have correct judgment with this news we read and heard.

I’m sure you heard the news about the massive abduction by the ABUSAYAFF, victimizing Filipinos and even other nationalities. As a result, the issue reached the international media and caused fear to some tourists to visit the country. It seems that they are not fighting for any rights but they are just doing it for their own interests.

Fortunately, the issue about abduction which involved ABUSAYAFF is recently dwindling. Because of unified force from government and people some leaders of the group were already caught. Is this the end of the battle?

As a concluding point, this war should be totally eliminated in our system, so that PEACE and PROSPERITY shall prevail in our loved country. Enough of injustice, rebellion and blood surge in our land.

As Raja said, this fight will go on, as long there are both sides somewhat equally strong.

Lack of tolerance on both side is severe, and thought at both is they can win final battle.

As they are both quite agressive, we can see where this is taking.

As for Filipinos, moslims down there are poor, when comparing with some on the north. Thats the most obvious reason for problems.

And goverment can hide its own affairs from the people, if they are more involed into chopping each other apart instead of being politically aware (second reason?)

"Christian" vs. "Muslim"

True Spirituality Transcends Religion.

I define Spirituality as an INTERNAL Process of:

1. Personal Submission to and Devotion to the Divine within
2. Dedication to Metaphysics
3. Respect for others and their INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS
(including the right to practice their own Religion)

Religion is an EXTERNAL framework (tradition, observances, etc.) in which Spirituality is SUPPOSED to Operate.

Violence done "in the name of God" demonstrates only one thing...the perpetrators are neither Spiritual NOR Godly.

This type of infantilism is what plunged the world into an abyss called "the dark ages".... unfortunately, it's still going on in the world today.

When people stop focusing on the EXTERNAL differences of Religion (tradition, dogma, etc.) and start focusing on INTERNAL Core Truths, Love and the desire to be an asset to their fellow humans in the Brotherhood of man, we may actually make some Progress here on the Planet...
