Everyone is segregated somehow, some more than others. I myself am often called a "Nazi" because both of my parents are from Germany, even though neither of their parents ever supported Hitler. How were you treated unfairly???? Please, SHARE!!!!

I think your question is not completely clear. Segregated in what way?
I'm segregated in my own unique way as I'm not a Muslim anymore, so its pretty tough for me to find like-minded friends.. but I'm adjusting to American culture and Americans are nice people overall. I havent been treated unfairly, as far as I can remember.
I see your profile in which you say:
"Although we consider ourselves to be one of the most civilized countries, we really are not. "
Which country is the most civilized in your eyes? Which is the least?
thanks
Adnan

answers to ze questions

Adnan-
In response to your two questions:
1) "Segregated in what way?" I'm afraid you're right, that I didn't explain very well. In treated unfairly, I meant anything, from being called a name to being beat up. For example, African Americans have always been treated differently for the color of their skin. If, in any way, you have been selected out of a crowd because of the way you look, your beleifs, or maybe even for what you're wearing, I would like to hear about it. Why? Because
2) "Which country is the most civilized in your eyes? Which is the least?" Canada, to me, seems like a country that seems the most civilized. Although there are still large game hunts that sometimes go on and they are STILL considered a colony of England, at least everyone gets free health care, the government is fair, and they don't go about declaring wars on other countries without the UN go-ahead signal.
The LEASE civilized country (to me) is Somali. The whole country has fallen apart. It doesn't even have a capital :-(. However, I see Somali as a place where we could start the country over, from scratch, and rebuild it to resemble anyone of the many super-powers of the world.
(When I say super-powers, I mean the USA, the UK, France, etc., etc.)
So, there are my answers Adnan. If you have any more questions, just post them.

I like your answers Magoozers... However I would watch calling Canada a colony of england. While many of the older generation (those 80 and older) do have fond memories of England, we really ditched those with the Statue of Westminster in 1931 and then In 1981 when we brought home the constitution. I know we still have the queen, although technically we call her the queen of Canada... and most youth my age would just as well be rid of her...
Colony we are not... But I do understand the sentiment you were trying to convey... Even when I go to the states, my relatives ask me why we still have the queen. I just ask them to explain why you stll use the electoral college, and then we just sit and stew in our mysteries...
Have Fun
Brian

magoozersFor example, African Americans have always been treated differently for the color of their skin.
This is an interesting debate. Definitely, in past, during days of Slavery, blacks were treated completely unfairly and this was tragic (its another dicussion so I'll end that here, maybe make a new thread for discussion)
they don't go about declaring wars on other countries without the UN go-ahead signal.
yes but they also werent attacked like in 9/11. But to this you could say "but they were doing wrong stuff (isreal etc.etc)" and thats why they were attacked. I dont like going in that area since I dont know much about it.
Good discussion, thanks please carry on.
To answer your question again, no, I havent been significantly segrated or discriminated against.
Oh actually, I have been segregated in a small way, Americans dont like the smell of our delicious Pakistani tasty foods and I hate their bland burger junk food . So if that can be called segregation .. :0
