Not all believes changes with the time

Haseeb khan,
Your parent’s believes might have became old and worn out with passing the time, but Some facts doesn’t change forever, thus some believes are also not related to the time, they are as constant as its sources. So we talk about all the believes of our parents not some of them.

well, my beliefs are different than my mothers and similiar to my father's. My mother is a weak Muslim, but she still says prayers sometimes and believes in Allah. My father is like me, an ex-muslim. I'm glad to have *some* support from family

As i've been educated by them and owe a lot to them, i believe in many things they do too.
But as i had life different from their, i have many disagrees with them but it doesn't matter as they understand that time changes and it's not supposed for me to be dependent of them and what they think is good for me is not necessary what i'll choose (althought girls are supposed to depend on their parents -especially their father or uncle- as all arabs and muslims believe)
But i try to keep close to them, sharing almost everything in my life with them. Sincerly it make me feel better, cause i do believe in Allah words when he recommends to us to obey our parents and avoid to 'breaking up' with them.

Very Different!

It may sound bit occurd to Omar and few others, but my beliefs are very much different then that of my parents, and think its natural cause they lived in a different time then I do and they lived differently then I do.
And another reason can be that , I was not with them for sometime.
I have full respect to their beliefs ,and at times have to act the way they do cause I dont want to hurt their feelings , and Tradition!!!! i always break it and never follow , cause I dont believe in it.

I think we need to realise why the worLd changes the way it does and how it causes everything in it to change with time. This is why we are all not living in jungles any more nor in caves or even huts.
This is why beliefs changed as well as practices, religions as well as cultures and traditions as well as customes or values.
Just as we are different from our parents, they too were differetn from their parents and so the story goes if we keep going back in time.
The world is a very competitive place and as individual people and groups struggle to out do each other, they force a change into each other and thus comes about progress in things that help us survive better.
Regards.

Lets accept the reality that two human beings can never be all the same, fine they can have some common points and beleifs , but this also happens very rare.
I never said that my parents believes have become old or worn out,so change the misinterpretation of my post , what they believe in is what they do and are comfortable at believing so.
Its not a pitty that I am not the way they are (I see you mean this that we have to be the way our parents are) ,I am my self and my parents are my parents, whom i respect the most and certainly love me too.!
BTW . facts vary with beliefs!
