I think it will be much more clear if TIG will let us know to the public and all members ¿how dose the raking work?

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about. We have an internal ranking system that allows us to find most active members etc. but this is not visible to regular members of TIG.

Well the ranking judges overall activity on the site. And they are weighted averages of different activities. But very few people know the exact formula.

Woah, I totally didn't know that. I suppose it makes sense, so you can clear people who've been long gone or see how active the average user is, but it's weird that there's a formula behind it.

Utria, I think that any type of a public ranking could cause unwanted problems. I used to mod a different board, and it had "stars" for various numbers of posts made. You would not believe how dissected those stars were- how visually appealing one was versus another, or how much attention was given to earning a new star, or how people bemoaned that the stars created a class system, elevetating older or more prolific users above newbies. It was ridiculous.
