At the outset of this discussion, I would like to stress that it has become indispensable to rely on
ICT for quick access to news and information from different sources, from all over the world.
The advantage here is accessibility to various sources, to different viewpoints on the same issue,
and it is up to you to make your own synthesis and readouts. Such exposure to what I consider an
important research tool, helps foster open dialogue and enhance decision-making processes on
wide-ranging issues.
Looking forward to receiving your feedback on the pros & cons of electronic media.

everything has its good and its bad sides.
yes, the ro,le of eletronic media in allowing the information flow is quite valuable.
but sometimes the information that flows can be negative. there's still prejudicist, reactionary,
intolerant minds around. and a lot. realizing that eletronic media provides access to different
information and news is realizing that this so called negative information can also flow easily.
so the key might be developing ways to people everywhere receive this information in a critical and
reflective way, is enabling people to react over the information they access.

It is a privilege to have access to diverse sources and different reports on the same issue.
Such quick access to diversity, by means of the new information and communication technology makes
you aware of others' different views and opinions. This way you have grounds to answer back, to
refute, and express your own views.
It is an opportunity to reach out to others and explain your viewpoints.
Different views open debate and dialogue, and it is up to you to get an objective conclusion out of
all this diversity.

I agree with you.
Objectivity is all we need when running discussion, when reading news or writing comments on any
issue.
Whatever you're reading from reports from all over the globe doesn't mean you should be accepting
all of them but people should know it's the starting point for an objective discussion to express
your opinion and discuss the feedback of other people.

We do also need to be objective while reading news to get a fair judgement without being dragged
into biases.

Electronic media is like a huge online library, giving you quick access to different sources on the
same topic.
The reader is not only a recipient but a thinker who has many choices to make.
That is the privilege of having instant access to media diversity.

Objectivity is all about peace and tolerance.
You cannot reach peace without understanding others and study objectively how to build up your
argument to defend your case.

But let us look at it from this angle again,
I a situation whereby you were asked to cover a crisis or any conflict involving your tribe or
community and another community and it seems your people are the one mostly at fault,would you still
go ahead and do 100% justice to report without being a bit bias about the situation.....
suggestion please

That is a Good Question.
I will tell you my personal view.
Objectivity in its absolute sense requires explanation to be convincing to the other side, why
certain action was taken.
In this case, you explain your people's point of view and motives.
If it is irrational, on the part of a certain group, due to lack of knowledge or information, here
comes the role of the reporter to clarify that it is not condoned by the rest of the community or
the government.
On the other hand, "At fault" should be evaluated by international values and not personal or
subjective values. If they are really on the wrong side, breaching international laws and norms,
there is no room for bias.
