Speaking Together Through Photography

Hi everyone!
One of the things I've noticed as I've been writing articles, posting messages, discussing, watching documentaries and so on and so forth is that one of the best ways to truly get people affected emotionally is through the combination of words and pictures. Pictures are, in a way, articles all on their own. Indeed, a good picture usually takes a long time to take, develop, and even edit... And it speaks.
I am a strong supporter of human rights and supporting people around the world. I have seen the results of educating young people (even though I'm young too haha) and I love it, and want to do all I can to help out. With this in mind, I'd like to embark on a project that blends some of the things I am familiar with and also adds a new flavour to it; photography and a finished, possibly published product.
I run an online publication called Five Minutes to Midnight (www.fiveminutestomidnight.org). The project would deal with "Protecting the Youth". It would entail a series of three articles on youth poverty, war and youth, and youth organizations. Moreover, I'd like to collect photos of youth and the troubles they face from around the world. I'd like to put all this together on a special website, and also to publish something with it.
How does this sound? Anyone have any tips or does anyone want to help out?
Moreover, does anyone want to contribute with photography?

What a great idea. Having had a glimpse of what poverty is and how it affects the zealous youth, I cannot but support you in this project.I will do everything for the rest of the world to have an idea of what poverty is.

Hi!
Thank you for your interest! I will be sure to e-mail you in a few hours (I'm at school now, so can't do it until I get home).
Regarding incentives, there is nothing we can really give when it comes to awards or money. Five Minutes to Midnight and this project are run by volunteers and we do everything without any funds. However, here are some incentives that do not focus on that:
- All the work will be credited, so readers will know you took the photos or wrote material. Printed copies of the booklet will be distributed around the world (organizations in Brazil and Nepal have already shown interested in getting copies), so if you want your work to appear all over the world in print, this is the project to help out with.
- The work you do will be used to raise awareness and educate youth on their rights and what they can do. Your work will, in effect, help raise awareness and make the world a little better.
If there is anything you need that we can give you as in help with your own projects or anything else, please contact me and I will do my best.
