Messenger Service
January 3, 2004 - 08:19 AM

We are being gifted with e great site by TIG. I think it's one of the best site I have ever seen.

Thanks to Jenn and her crew members for this lovely site.
But I am kinda concerned about the messenger service. I think messenger service should be realtime popup system.
It is because. Unless you refresh your page the messages dont popup. It would be really great if we can work on that more.
And now we have over 32 thousand users of TIG. So we can build our own messenger. We can develop a software and put it in download sections.
So that all TIG members can download and use it for TIG messenger service.
I think this is a good idea. What do you think Jenn??

We have reviewed this in the past.

There have been two problems.

a) There are pleanty of other messenger services, and with profiles, you can contact people via said service

and

b) Money. TIG doesn't have the funding to create an application and to my knowledge no one has extensive program building knowledge (except maybe Rob..?)

In any case, although something like that would be nice, there are major blocks that prevent us from implimenting this at the present time.
