TIG email is not for everyone. It is for the people who are actively supporting with the main system. Like Jenn, Jack these people have TIG email. Not general members are able to have one.
but may be in near future we might have the option to have one..

Yes, currently all TIG email addresses are only available for TIG staff.
This may be a service in the future, but it would require significantly more technology that we currently posses.

What we need is funds for the servers and the connection, not for the technology. With GNU/Linux systems the technology is gratis

Sorry... that's actually what I meant. We get all of our technology for free anyway. I really meant hardware (and of course transfer etc too..)

Hi,
We can use the free service providers like everyone.net.
Instead of using takingitglobal.org we can use domains like tigmember.com, tigians.com, takingit.net etc... We can later make an ISP host our email server...
You just tell me the domain name and i will just register it...
Any other idea?

I used everyone.net for 2 years in the past and I left it because it's always more and more ads and I expected they are selling the emails database !
Anyway, I think they do not accept any free accounts anymore.
There is an other one called bigmailbox.com I don't know too much about it , I know only that many left it to use everyone.net
I think if TIG will offer this service, they must do it as professionals, giving pop3 feature, no ads at all ...
For this, they need only a dedicated server. We can search solutions to help them for this

OutBlaze?

I wonder if everyone.net's service will have the same web-layout and theme as TIG's site.
In the past, on my website, I give out free email accounts using Outblaze (http://www.outblaze.com/index.php) exactly under the site's domain as well. It has a very simple function and navigation keys.
I turn it off October last year as I can no longer afford the expensive hosting as the free email service is a web-based program. Big companies use this as well.

I will check it,
but i think till we get a dedicated server we ca n rely on the free providers, just for a start, it might help us negotiate with a potential service provider as well.
I am waiting for a positive response...

I think you can immagine how it's difficult to move email accounts from a server to another (with all the profiles and addresses book ... )
