I heard Bush last night say " The world is a far better place with out you , Mr. Saddam". (No Doubt, and Very Well Said, but)
Would you all kindly please fill the blanks below with one two or three or more names you feel best fit there to let us know,
The world would have been a great place if ........... , ........... ,and ................ , was/were alive today. ( Sure One name I would put in here would be Mahtma Gandhi)
The world would be a more than better and a great place with out ............ , .............. , and ............... .
Its just a survey, and please try and only name people, dont go into conflicts or I have no aim to cause a conflict by this, if it happens to do so then I would jumping in to delete the discussion.

Although Dr. ML King Jr., for example, is one of my heroes, I think everything happens for a reason. King and Gandhi fulfilled their purpose, and even their deaths have taught us something. I believe, as I'm sure you do, that we can all be like them - we may just not get recognition for it. For example, it was a loss to the world when Mother Theresa died, but I know there are a thousand unspoken heroes carrying on her work with the same spirit.
We cannot return to the past but we can work to fulfill our dreams for the present.

I don't think a person may have such a serious effect on peaceullness of the whole world,
and
i think Mr bush wasn't true to say the world without saddam is a good place bacause Bush and blair
(the elder brothers of saddam) are extant. they will find another saddam and then they will lunch another operatin on a nation.another anconda.......

Plz explain why, Luke?
How many people have Arafat and Aiatola killed so far?
Around 300000 were killed during American strikes in Afghanistan by Bush and are still being killed.
Thousands are killed in Iraq and are still being killed.
I am not talking about al Qaeda members and Sadams army but the innocent people. Visit Afghanistan and see the widows and orphans and the disables and witness the grave yards. Go to Iraq and ask every heart, every soul and see how distressed they are.
I haven’t heard Arafat and Aiatola have commeted such a BIG crime.
Go to Guantanamo and see the condition of prisoners there, I am damn sure you will call Bush a “war criminal.”
Why some Americans can’t accept that?

Haseeb, I don't believe the world would be a better place if Mahatma Gandhi were alive today. Infact things could be a lot worse.
There's only person from the past that I wish were alive, and that would be Gautam Buddha. If not him in person, we definitely do need someone with his sensibilites.

The lists mentioned Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jnr, John Lennon and others who have shown the world a better road through peaceful protest and non-confrontational demonstrations. Everyone seems to agree what great people these were and how their lives and sometimes deaths have shown us what potential exists for peace. Yet several of you still talk about who you think should die in order to achieve peace.

I think human sort will have to kill itself off to keep peace.
We r the most violent sort of life ever.
Maybe we sholud do some genetical changes on ourselves.

I think the world would be a better place for everybody if we could just all compromise, and get along. I mean you could be amazed at what compromising would do. If you think about it, a lot of famous peacemakers used compromising to stop wars and to bring forth peace. To answer the post I say, the world would be a better place if MLK Jr. was here to give "I have a Dream" speech, or even Ghandi to proclaim nonviolence, and the people who risked their lives on the battlefield when they did not want to fight; These are the people who have gone on that I say makes this world a better place.Because it helps us realize how people respond, and act towards nonviolence. This world would be a better place without these names: Greed, and Hate.
