Why do people make fun of women in the work place? Why aren't they treated equally? What could others do to help?

Sometimes in work place, women are not as strong as men, that's why some companies only employ men.

gettin raped is easy to learn about but goin through it is alot harder. facts are good but not as examples.
being raped is an issue for many to wonder about .

and for lil jay i completely disagree with cathy
i dink personally women arent treated right due to the great gender discrimination dat has been layed out on our workplaces
and a fact cathy 1990 most company have women workin for them men are thought to be good with their hands but dey aare also thought to jump to conclusion. a women perspective of the workplace is jus want economy need. and many women might not have physical strength but they do have idea on how to save time and there great with their brains. so sayin women aren't strong i simpliy a pathetic statement. women are very strong for god knows, our population would be wiped out on earth if women havent gone threw labour. I doubt ane man can match the strenth of a women in her pregnancy in every way , mentally, emotionally and physically

I strongly disagree with the ''not strong enough'' argument. This is neither a matter of strengh nor physical or mental abilities, according to what i beleive. First of all id like to draw your attention on the statistics. The ''matters of fact'' are very relative. Unfortunatelly or not, we live in a world of subjectiveness, hence if i dont have the source of these ''facts'' given i cant accept anything. Numbers and odds vary these days, and we have the chance to assure that in our everyday life.
Now, concerning the matter of women rights, and whether or not they are treated equally to men, i believe this is very relative too. It differs from country to country, and from continent to continent. In the so called ''western world'' the progress for women rights is obvious in the past decades, although in a few cases the old way of thinking isnt given up just yet. Unfortunatelly though, we cannot say the same thing for the ''developing'' world, reffering to the majority of countries in asia (esp middle east area), africa and latin america. Violations of women's rights isnt a rare phenomenon there but a living reality and statistical data from say amnesty international can prove my sayings. Women in many countries still dont have the chance to gain some basic education, are driven to cruel genital organs surgeries, dont have the right to choose their future in life -or better said- they actually dont have a future, nor a life.
One will argue me saying ''nobody thinks that women arent equal to men concerning mental or physical abilities'', or ''women are given the same opportunities with men''. As much as i would like that to be a fact, it certaintly isnt, and beleiving in it only strenghtens up the problem and defocuses us from the ''core of the apple''. I think that respect is where everything starts and ends, respect for ouselves, respect for others regardless sexes, respect for other peoples lifes. Putting it on a more general basis respect should always be a priority whenever talking about human rights. It's okay to disagree and be indifferent with others. We don't have to follow the ideas of the general public, but we should instead always respect others. I want to share with a qoute from a former Indigenous Mexican President, he said: "El derecho al respeto ajeno es la paz, " (more or less trasnlated into English is: "the right to other people's respect is the same as peace&quotwink. His name was Benito Juarez. This beautiful place can be a better place if we learn to respect because it brings peace, to love because it gives us serenity, and to forgive because it makes us unique.

Wrong.

Part of the reason that women are mocked in a work place is due to the fact that the male sex thinks of the female as the weaker sex. It doesn't necessarily matter whether a work place employs more men than women. All that seems to matter now days is whether woemen are capable of handling something more than the male sex.

Exactly true. Well this is an old habit, goes far back into sotne ages. On the basic division of duties. But lets not talk about this again.

Whats the solutions? INCENTIVES, paid by govenment, in order to make it "profitable" for companies to hire more women on "critical spots". Do u agree with me on this 1?

Anyway would not be wrong doing that, at end everything becones profitable. At least there is work, and as result, there is a wage, and where is a wage, there is good tax income, and where is that, there is a strong national economy.
