Dog is said to be the first animal tamed by human. All Indo-European cultures respect dog and encourage its use for four principle tasks: security, safety, protection; and search and rescue. No other animal is able to carry out all these tasks and perhaps other animals may do one or two of the mentioned capabilities. Besides, eating dogs is prohibited by all Indo-European cultures.

There are three fundamental problems in human-dog relations. The first one is keeping of dogs in human living quarters and even letting dogs to sleep in the same bed with owners that seem abnormal even to some sectors of Indo-European cultures. On the other hand, there is the second problem and that is eating this gentle, brave, kind, hard working and loyal being. Third is the un-owned and vagrant dogs that cause disturbance and get infection by disease specially in the third world countries.

Perhaps implementing laws and regulations for the most suitable human-dog relationship is necessary.
