U.S. vs. Snowden on Surveillance
Oct 23, 2013

The case of #EdwardSnowden and the U.S. Government is what should concern the global community. Maybe you will agree with me as you read through below.

Nonetheless, I want to analytically point out that the major problem about the whole issue would not bent on blaming either Edward nor the government.

Obviously, some people, whom we seem to enjoy their services,at first, are responsible for creating the whole scenario. Guess who? They are #Microsoft, #Yahoo, #Google, #Facebook, #AOL, #Skype, #Youtube, #Apple.

What do we now get? Its a total breach of privacy agreement between these companies and their subscribers. Why? Before signing up to use any of these services, the providers assures clients that "personal information" shall not be shared to third parties. Its not about the U.S. citizens alone, subscribers worldwide are exposed to this same threat to their privacy.
What do you guys think?

I totally agree. Government transparency is necessary for a democracy to be functional. The encroachment of government and private businesses on individuals' privacy is a huge threat. Big data is being collected and algorithms are capable of justifying surveillance on individuals. National security is important, but expensive programs such as the one from the NSA have not proven to be worth the cost.
