I owned an iphone 4 for pretty long time and I just recently tried tinkering with an Android device. I have to say that Android or IOS is really a matter of taste. I like iphone for its seamless operation and the large, well-organized and high-quality app store. I would choose Android cos rooted Android allow deeper device modifications compared to jailbroken ios and the app market seems more extensive due to its less stringent control over apps.

@daretofail you got it right there. an android device in the third world is a developers paradise... windows 8 is the more likely competitor if they get more people on this windows 8 mobile platform.

@ NEVILLE M. MUGAMBI, Nokia- Symbian or java ?
Nokia is a good phone from hardware or build prospective.

Android app market is really rich compared to WP or IOS.

@ Anh Tuan,
It gonna be tough to switch over from a platform to another, as you are using Iphone for a long time.

Why don't you give a try to Windows Phone instead of Android ?

Though Android app market is rich than Windows Phone app market, but build or performance wise Nokia Lumia (Wp-8) are really good to use smile
