Do you think going to war with other countries really results in peace?

I don't think that war ever results in peace. I believe that it just causes contries to have bigger bragging rights.

War can't cause peace since it is one of the main reasons why peace is broken. War causes alot hardships for people who had no choice in the matter.

war on terror can definatly result in peace. in fact- while dealing with terrorists war is the only way, sadly, to achieve peace.

War never beings anything good, so going to war does not bring peace in any form. I think dialogue and discussion matters.

Discussion is not about war on terror. It is about war itself without mentioning causes of war. Terrorism could be assumed as just one cause among all causes. But calling some people terrorist is not a one way road. These days it is super powers who define terrorism. But we witness the same super powers who claim to create liberation groups acting like terrorists.

Clausewitz believes War is the continuation of Politik by other means" (Politik being variously translated as "policy" or "politics", but mostly accepted as politics in the United States.

Sarah,Current Israel is a post world war 2 creation. The consequences of that creation including all clashes requires a separate discussion unless you would like to do it right here.

Absolutely true. People of Africa who have suffered from the wars and clashes do know the value of dialogue and discussion.

this discussion is about war, but of course it matters what the war is against.
do you not define an organization that it's ideal is terror, that praises stabbing of children and bombing buses, and that is VERY antisemitic as a terror organization?
Israel is a land that Jews have yearned for almost 2,000 years, wanting to create a state here after being exiled by force. it is definitely not a "post WW2 creation".
i did not bring Israel into this discussion at all, you did. if you would like to discuss it, I'm here.

OK Sarah. Lets discuss on principles. There is always a chance to discuss on examples.

Do you agree with Clausewitz that war is a continuation of politics with other means?
