People use climate change and environmental change interchangaeably but I am wondering whether these
words mean the same things.

Yes, they are different but are linked to one another. Climate change can cause environmental change
and environmental change can cause climate change.
Environmental change can be by a number of factors.
1) Deforestation
2)Pollution
3)Spreading of pests and weeds
4)Loss of habitat leading to species extinction.
to name a few.
