How would the American anti piracy act, SOPA affect you? Is it only an American issue or a global issue?

Take The Great God Google, where you're trusting them with your life...they want you to use their gmail, their Google payments, their Google-run YouTube and Blogspot, etc. And yet we hear all the time, "Oops, gmail has been hacked, oh gosh, Google has a security leak, oh my, Google can't guarantee anything and they've just changed their privacy policy again..."
Cutely-named Google. Googly-adorable Google. When somebody has a success on the Net, Google pulls the Hitler act and tries to take it over. If they can't, they use their huge financial clout to launch a competition. They are fighting Amazon for eBook supremacy, been battling Facebook with their own networking ideas, and were caught trying to start up a competition to eBay. The only reason it failed, was that eBay threatened to pull all their ad money (they were hot-linking on Google search all over the place).
Oh yes, and Google has mapped your neighborhood and photographed your home, and is happy to show it to anybody who is contemplating burglaries in your area.
Add to that, Russian websites that are tracking your IP every time you go to a torrent, the ability of hackers to get all your personal data just because you bought shoes in line from Zappos, and the charming people of Wikileaks who believe in total transparency for everyone but themselves. And that means if they feel like it, they'll throw your records open to the world via PirateBay. That is, private confidential stuff. The other things...how many times you've been arrested, how much you paid for your house, how many live in your home, etc., that's all available for a few dollars from the "search public records, let's snoop reverse phone numbers" weasels.
so it is going on as we speak, but this will completely ruin the internet!
