Male or female child which do you prefer

In Africa and some parts of the world, people prefer male children to an extend where if the first child is not a male child the man became very angry. Most people say it is because they want the male child to be their successors but tradition is changing and some women has started succeeding their fathers. what is your own view about this we will like you to share it with us.
